About the Artist
Water by Moonlight
Hungarian born Victor Horvath brings the beauty
and magic of the Caribbean through his artwork. He left his native
country to travel the world. He was educated in Canada in the Museum of
Fine Arts (MOFA) in Montreal, and continued his training in California
to further his training in the '60's.
Returning to Europe in 1965, he attended the Academy of
Vienna to specialize in the art style of Romantic Realism.
Horvath has frequently been featured in various
art exhibitions and publications on the mainland. He derives his
inspiration for his works from the seascapes and natural surroundings of
the Caribbean and from his travels. He visits his homeland often but
calls St. John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands his home where he now
resides.
Many visitors to the Virgin Islands recapture the magic
of the beauty and splendor of the sights upon returning home. Most of
Victor Horvath's works now occupy center stage, a centerpiece in
both homes and offices of his patrons.
